Return to Guanajuato
I am back in Guanajuato. Feast of the Virgen de Guadalupe. Spent yesterday afternoon amidst the marching bands presiding over makeshift parades winding through the narrow cobbled streets of a Mexico I was never able to forget. Visions of the past were quickly resurected. Visions of a beautiful place etched in the most sacred quarters of my mind.
Here amidst the pools of radiant sunlight bathing the terra cotta tiles and gentle pastel walls of history - deep, and sad - I was granted the most rare opportunity to walk through a dream. A dream of my own past love. And loss. And resurection the realm of reality. A reality with which I am now in love.
Wake up on the side of a hill, on abandoned railroad tracks in the warm morning sun. A young boy brings me a cup of warm cider. Ride into town looking for the Diego Rivera museum and my comrades and I befriend an expatraite expainter pisssing away an inheritance in a pool of cheap mezcal. By the time we find it the museum has closed. This is my reality.

Pues Hombres!!!!!
Hi. I had a dream about y'all 2 nights ago, I woke up sorry not to be by your sides sometime before sundet with some dope ocean view (or maybe desert view). Glad to know you're in Guanajuato, it must be nice to be somewhere to lively and colorful after your pilgrimage through the desert.
I miss you guys. I have been riding like hell in the city working on bikes in the shop downtown and strangely enjoying the 20 degree weather (wierd huh?) I have met several escaped menta patients- you can tell when someone goes grocery shopping with Ortlieb panniers, and I met a dude who did Baja, India, South America and Thailand, all solo. He said the best part is the second half- is that true? Also, glad to know you have some maternal instincts, although Christine's are unparalelled.
Well, enjoy your last week together in Mexico Lindo, I can't wait to see pics and hear all about it! Oh, y como estan hablando? Bien me parece, aprendiendo de la puta escuela de la vida. andale. <3<3

Erica,
You are dearly missed out here on the road, but life proceeds none the less. Spent a couple of rough days getting into Guanajuato - a long bus ride and a brush with death at the hands of semi on the ride in from Irpuato - but all has been fresas con crema since. Stayed in Guanajuato for la dia de la Virgen de Guadalupe and it was a hoot. A really and truly amazing place. Yesterday we rode through the mountains amidst stunning views into San Miguel de Allende. I hate to report to you that this most sacred town of Neal C. and the beats has been hijacked by retirees and asshole gringo tourists intent on ruining the place for humanity. We are heading south towards DF maƱana. Wish you were here. Ciao, Aaron.
